Held in Kibera slums.

Nairobi’s slum areas are awakening to a new era of culture and recreation for their residents, which are crucial elements for identity, pride and self-confidence.. These initiatives comes from the individuals living in the community or those who have lived there and now wish to contribute to their former neighborhood.

In Mathare, a initiative called “Mathare Roosts Youth Initiative” has been established, leading to the creation of a community park. This endeavor has inspired numerous other groups, facilitating theater performances and musical entertainment within the park.

In May, residents of Nairobi can immerse themselves in a community-based, entry-free music festival aimed at uniting people for positive change through the power of music. The festival will take place in the Kibera slums, commencing 5th of May at 15:00.
